In response to the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Every Body Texas acting Title X Director, Matt Thompson, released the following statement:

Today’s Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturns almost 50 years of precedent and will have devastating consequences for those least able to access sexual and reproductive healthcare already.

Contraception access is more important than ever, but it is not enough. Even with the most accessible, affordable, and effective forms of contraception, abortion will still be necessary. Access to safe, legal abortion is a critical component of sexual and reproductive healthcare.

At Every Body Texas, we continue to work for a world where all people can access the safe, high-quality, unbiased sexual and reproductive healthcare they want and need -- regardless of their circumstances.
