Protect Title X

Title X funding is at risk in Texas and nationwide. Help us advocate for these critical federal dollars that keep millions of people healthy.

Title X funding is at risk. Everyday people will pay the price.

Title X (Title Ten) is a federal grant that increases people's access to sexual and reproductive healthcare, including life-saving preventive services like breast and cancer screenings. In Texas, Title X dollars support healthcare access for more than 187,000 people at over 150 clinics in the Texas Title X network.

Most Title X clients are below the federal poverty level and don't have health insurance. They may face overlapping challenges like poverty, housing insecurity, and limited access to healthcare. Without Title X, many clients are forced to choose between paying for essential healthcare and meeting basic needs—making the loss of this program a crisis that would reach far beyond poor health outcomes.

Recent developments could put Title X funding at risk in Texas and every state across the country. We need your help advocating for the full funding of Title X this year and in future years to protect the health of the millions of people for whom this service is a lifeline.

What Is Title X?

Title X is the nation’s only federal program dedicated to providing affordable birth control and reproductive healthcare. For more than 50 years, it’s helped ensure that people—regardless of income, insurance, or immigration status—can access the care they need to stay healthy. As the Title X administrator for Texas, Every Body Texas plays a critical role in ensuring that more than 187,000 people in Texas access the care they need to live healthy lives.

Each year we distribute more than $15M in funding to a network of over 150 clinics that provide clients with free and affordable healthcare services, including:

  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings

  • Birth control and family planning

  • STI testing and treatment

  • Basic infertility services

  • Preventive care and referrals for chronic and mental health needs

The majority of Title X clients are uninsured and living with low incomes. For many, their Title X clinic is the only place they go for healthcare. Title X dollars are critical for clinics across Texas to continue offering free and heavily discounted healthcare to the people who need it most. But right now, Title X is at risk.

There are two ways you can help us protect Title X:

1. Call Your Member of Congress

Your voice is powerful! You can use it to ask national lawmakers to support full funding of Title X in Texas and all states across the country.

  • Find your of Congressional Representative using your address.
  • Use the script below to explain the value of Title X funding and ask your legislator to advocate for the full funding of Title X in Texas and all states.

Calling your member of Congress?

  • Here's what to say:

"Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I live in [Your ZIP Code].

I am calling to express concern about current and future funding for the Title X program. Possible funding cuts will have a real impact on people's access to basic healthcare services, like cancer screenings and birth control, in the communities that [Name of Legislator] represents. Many states across the country have suddenly found themselves without Title X funding and Texas has not yet received its full award.

Last year, more than 187,000 clients were supported by Title X dollars in Texas. Any reduction in Title X funding jeopardizes healthcare for many of these people. I ask that [Name of Legislator] advocates for the speedy release of the rest of this year’s Title X funding in Texas and ensure full funding for Title X in the FY 26 budget."

2. Give to Every Body Texas

Our organization is currently operating with a dramatically reduced budget to maximize the amount of our Title X grant that goes directly to clinics and patient care.

Your support allows Every Body Texas to continue increasing access to high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare across Texas, providing support and training to Title X providers, and educating on legislative priorities that support and protect the health of everyone in Texas.
