Director of Finance

Director of Finance Job Announcement

Every Body Texas seeks a Director of Finance (“Director”) to provide oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities supporting Every Body Texas’s operations. The Director ensures legal, regulatory and grant compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions to support effective program implementation and provides strong internal controls and develops financial strategies for growth.


Grant Funded Position

This is a full-time, grant funded position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Current grant funding is for four years, through March 31, 2027. Position extension likely with continued project funding.


Who We Are

At Every Body Texas, we work to ensure that every person in Texas can access safe, unbiased, high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare by funding and training healthcare providers in a way that increases access for clients.

As the statewide Title X grantee for Texas, we distribute nearly $15.5M in federal funding each year to over 150 clinics across the state—funding that is critical to ensuring that clinics stay open and deliver much needed sexual and reproductive healthcare to over 180,000 people in Texas every year. We also deliver training and technical assistance to providers and conduct policy, advocacy, and research activities that promote increased access to care.

What You’ll Do

You will be a strategic thought partner essential to all aspects of financial management for Every Body Texas, including accounting, billing, reconciling, budget development and tracking, financial operations, team management, insurance coverage, management of legal requirements and development of projections for individual project budgets and grant budgets.

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop long-term financial model and regularly monitor and report financial performance of the organization.

  • Provide strategic guidance regarding policies, procedures and systems to manage the organization’s financial and administrative operation.

  • Analyze financial data, present reports, and communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

  • Manage annual budget process, provide support to program directors and team members as needed.

  • Oversee accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate audit activity and prepare detailed audit schedules.

  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.

  • Create and maintain finance manuals and working documents to ensure team members adhere to practices and procedures.

  • Provide oversight on credit card reconciliation, employee expense reports, cash control and payroll tax compliance.

  • Provide supervision to the bookkeeper and grant compliance team.

  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects, reports and initiatives as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field. Advanced degree and/or certification preferred, MBA/CPA.
  • A minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit, healthcare setting.
  • Experience working federal grant management challenges.
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills, Outlook, QuickBooks, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce.
  • Financial management, strategic thinking, business acumen, ethical conduct. and technical capability.
  • Communication proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, analytical, and software reporting.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, regulatory bodies, and compliance requirements and risks.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and correspondence with discretion.
  • Alignment with Core Values of dignity, access, facts, equity, innovation, and quality of care.

  • Be detail-oriented: Able to produce high quality work, paying close attention to all the small particulars in review of polices, reports, etc.


What Else You Should Know

This position is remote in Texas and requires mandatory in-person attendance at meetings held once a quarter at the Austin, Texas office or designated Austin, Texas location. The salary for this
position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, with exact salary depending on experience.
