ACTION ALERT

Call your Senator to Support HB 12
HB 12 extends Medicaid coverage for new moms to one full year.
HB 12 passed out of its committee and will be heading to a floor vote soon. We expect that HB12 will make it through the House. After that, the bill heads to the Senate where it will also need a hearing, to pass out of its Senate committee, and then pass the full Senate before it can go to the Governor's desk to be signed into law.
So how can you help new moms in Texas have a full year of health coverage? Call your Texas Senator and ask them to support HB 12 when it comes to the Senate! Below is a sample script:
"Hello. My name is _____________, I live in Senator _____________'s district. I'm calling to ask the Senator to support HB12 when it comes to the Senate. HB12 would expand postpartum Medicaid from just 60 days to a full year. Twelve months of coverage is the number one recommendation from the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Committee to prevent maternal deaths."
